Two months.

Two months old--and that's a 0-3 month onesie!
On Monday, I took Cecily in to the doctor for her two-month check-up. I was relieved to learn that she weighs in at a measly 14 pounds 13 ounces*. The doctor started laughing when she came in and took a look at the naked chub sitting on my lap. She greeted us with "Well, hello there, Miss Skinny!" And, yes, at 14 pounds 13 ounces, Cecily is in the 50th percentile--for a five month old.

Having a child who is happy to eat has taken some serious getting-used-to. I dreaded breastfeeding for the last six months of this pregnancy because it was so awful with Caleb for so long. It's been so wonderful not to have to take the baby in every two days for weight checks and bilirubin tests and not to have to wake her up to feed her. Amazing.

And then she's always so happy to see me (or anyone, for that matter).

Delighted by her cousin.

*Before I left for the doctor's office, I bet Paul that she weighed 17 pounds. It's a good thing, I guess, that Paul is morally opposed even to lame bets like "I'll bet you a milkshake the baby weighs 17 pounds," because I would've lost.
