Moments from vacation #1.

We got back last night from a trip that started in Phoenix to visit the (great) grandparents and ended in San Diego. Rather than give a blow-by-blow of those events, I have, just now, decided to blog brief vignettes. Or at least this one. We'll see what the coming days bring.

At the close of sacrament meeting on Sunday, Paul and I shared the hymnbook for the closing hymn. Caleb was between us, and both of us assumed the other was the Book Holder, so when the hymn ended, we both just closed the book and watched as it fell to the floor with a loud smack. This, of course, made me laugh. Which made me aspirate my gum. So in the pre-prayer hush, I started hacking and choking in such a way that at least three people started pounding me on the back, asking if I was okay. I recovered rather quickly--though not before the prayer started--and therefore spent the entire (lengthy) prayer laughing so hard that I turned the otherwise stationary pew into a rocker for about two minutes.

Yes, reverence. Good thing I only misbehave away from our own ward. (Ahem.)
