Truths

  • I was extra nice today. This is worth recording, even if I don't mention the specifics.
  • In other aberrant news for today, two people didn't realize after spending an hour or two with me that I'm pregnant (and it's not really inconspicuous at this point...), one person complimented my "red" hair, and I happened upon one of my most dear young women's leaders who moved to another state while I was on my mission.
  • I cried like a baby at Brookie's wedding. It was entirely because other people were crying. I don't know what it is, but if I see other people crying at certain moments, I don't stand a chance at the power of my tear ducts.
  • Caleb asked as the sun was setting if he had missed his rest today (we started having "rests" around lunch time about two years ago when he gave up napping). Upon being told yes, he broke into song ("We missed mah rest to-o-o-day! I'm so-o-o-o ha-a-a-a-ppy!")
  • I made three skirts yesterday. The first one I just eyeballed and thought, "Yeah! That'll fit!" And, no. It did not. The second one did fit but resembled a pregnancy sack more than anything else. The third one is functional: it mostly fits and is mostly cute. (Total time sewing: four hours. Total money spent: $15. Lesson (re)learned: Successful sewing requires measuring, not just merry cutting and frolicking.)
  • Paul will be visiting nearly every state in the American Southwest over the next three weeks. Call now to schedule a Paul sighting in your area. I, meanwhile, will be painting that darn room (unless I can find someone else to do it for me).

  1. I would love to come and paint that room for you but I will be otherwise occupied.
